Hello All,
My Dad was stationed at KI Sawyer from '76 to '80. We lived at 605 Liberator. Thank you very much for taking the time to make the site. It could just be that fact that I was young (K thru 3rd grade) but I really miss that place. I had so much fun in the sand pits and swimming at Sporely. There might have been some winter time activities too, I'm not quite sure...
Good day to all.

Hello, I came across your page and think that it was well put together! I used to live at KI Sawyer back in the early 90's. I was in second grade then (attended KI Sawyer Elementary), and looking at your photos brought back a lot of memories. What a beautiful place it is and what I would do to go back. Great Job on the site!!

I was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB from 11-67 to 01-71. I was only nineteen years old when I first arrived there. At first it was difficult to adjust, but once I did I made the most of it. Thanks to my pal SGT. Al Fish, I learned to hunt and fish. It was a beautiful place, and I think of it often. I have been back two times. Once in 1974, and again in 1981. Hopefully, in 2007 my 40th anniversary, I will return for my last visit.

I was stationed at KI from June '69 till Sept. 71 I worked at the 410th engine shop and test cell. I lived in Little Lake next door to Brown's tavern in the little log home. I sure remember all of the huge snows and cold temps. My wife, Mona and I had a lot of good times though

I was station at K.I.S. from Dec. 1971- Jan. 1974 with the 410th Security Police Squadron. I'll never forget guarding B-52's, KC-135's in the freezing temps. bundled up in a parka, artic gloves and boots. You could always count on the guys complaining about the chow hall food but always looked forward going into Marquette to try to meet girls from the University. Had some great times back then and miss everyone I served with.

Great site! It brought back lots of memories. I was ststioned at K.I. from 10 October 1966 to 2 Feb. 1970 when I seperated from the AF. I was in the 410th Supply Sqd. and worked in EMO. Both of my kids were born at the base hospital and from about March 1968 till I left, we lived at 126 Provider. Our house is visiable in your photo of the intersection of Provider & Constellation. You can just see the corner of it at the extream right of that picture. Many fond memories of the base, so many years ago.

My dad (step-dad), Raymond Bodick, was stationed at KISAFB back in the late '70's to early '80's. He did Bomb Nav on the B-52G with the 410th AMS. After I joined the Air Force, he used to tell me some stories about his time there at KISAFB. He passed away 6 years ago now at the young age of 42. If anybody out there knew him back then, I would love to hear from you and hear more stories about him back then.
By the way, this is a great site that allows me to get some idea of the base and area itself.
