I was stationed at KI Sawyer from October 1991-October 1993 and was attached the 410th CES Squadron. I worked that time in the Vertical Shop under our civilian leader, Paul Erikson. I worked with great guys, A1C Pat Basalo, SRA Casey Stratton, Msgt John Burkhart, just to name a few. My wife also was stationed at Sawyer and was attached to the hospital squadron there on the same dates as I was, her name was Stacy Sharp. I haven't been back since those days and seeing these pictures really has brought back memories for me. Thank you!

I loved your website!
My husband is retired Air Force 22yrs.
We were stationed at K.I.Sawyer AFB from Nov.1976-May 1985 We lived at 314 Dart. When you showed an old photo taken from your 313 Dart porch.......it showed our house where we lived. That was soooo cool to see. Actually we saw a picture of it twice! We also visited up there after my husband retired in 1998. We drove around and took photos also. Thanks for the great memories!

My father (Richard B Leeka) was stationed at Sawyer from 1962-1971. We lived at 263 Falcon St and moved to 485 Hustler St when he was promoted to Major. I attended Leo P McDonald thru 6th grade and then transferred to Gwinn High. The Middle School was under construction and we attended half days until completed. Larry Antley and I were both in the class of '73. I was in Boy Scouts, too. My last visit was in 1993 while the base was still commissioned. I called ahead to ask for a base pass but no one would authorize it. Knowing every back road and gate entrance from my youth, I simply entered the base from the McDonald School gate and took a walk around. One of Latty's photos shows the water tower in the background. I stared at its flashing red beacon so many times from my second-floor bedroom on Falcon. Great job on the site, Larry!

Wow - what a walk down memory lane. Our family was stationed there from 1966 to 1971. We lived on Liberator, then on Cougar. My sisters and I attended St. Christopher's catholic school in Marquette the first few years, then KI Elementary. Thanks so much for the pictures!
