KI vets. It was very emotional for all of us. Very sad to see the base was closed. Worked in the Motor Pool driving aircraft crews, Base shuttle, Town shuttle and what not. Visited the barracks in "The Hole", the Motor Pool area. Had a wonderful time would like to do it again. Thank You for bringing back some great memories

My ex-husband and I were stationed there from 1983-1990. We were there 3 years and then he got a 5 year controlled tour. I cried when they closed that place down. It was our home. My daughter was born there in 1985. We were so young then, LOL! I have many pictures of our winters there. They need scanned though. Thank you for making this website!!

E-mail: btrussel@jsu.edu 		I WAS AT K.I. FROM OCT 1979-83 . WAS A "REFER" MECHANIC . WAS IN THE BUILDING NEXT TO SAGE BLD. WE KEPT UP ALL THE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.
GOT OUT IN 88' ,BUGET CUTS , LAST DUTY AS KEY WEST NAVAL AIR STATION,WORKING OUTTA HOMESTEAD MIAMI FLA. 401 CES. WAS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK.
NICE TO SEE AL THE ATTENTION FOR THE OLE PLACE.TOOK A TRIP UP THERE FEW YAERS BACK TO VISIT OLD FRIENDS STILL THERE . HAD A GOOD TIME AGAIN....THANKS.

That guy sold me more household stuff on low-interest, easy monthly installment plans than I care to remember.... What ever happened to that restaurant in Marquette... Entre Amigos? Still there?? Remember that band that played the NCO Club.. Toy Jester?? It's all a blur.

E-mail: angie02y@yahoo.com 		I came across your website and found it very interesting. My husband was stationed at KI Sawyer from 1979-1982. Our son was born there in 1980. Looking at the pictures brought back alot of memories. We lived in Gwinn for a short time and then on Falcon St on base.
We visited the UP about 4 years ago and went to the base and found things very different. My husband was a 'Security Police' and guarded the flight line many nights! It would be great to hear from some of our old friends that we have lost contact with. Thanks for taking to time to put together such an awesome website!

I was with 410th OMS. Tanker Crew Chief from 1980-1984..wow where have the years gone...some good times at KI...still visit the U.P. twice a year at least...have a daughter there...would love to hear from some old tanker dogs!
